As the 2005 College Poker Tour slides into Tampa it is warm, wet, and the coveted title of "TOUR'S #1 BAR" quickly goes Courtside Bar and Grille, so far we found out it's kinda new, opened just a few month ago by Former Tech YellowJacket Matt Geiger and some of his closest business partners. We just happened to be able to see the place from our balcony so we went on over to check it out and kick back one or two after the long drive. And dam it if we didn't fall in love, but well get back to that.

Our first event in Tampa was at Bobalouie's Grille & Sports Garden wasn't your average Thursday. True it was week three of Tag Team Poker's and on top of the 75 players they had, the bar was packed all day as it was also the start of the March to the Arch. I could live off of just basketball and poker forever, but we also had green beer. Yup, because every Irish I know always needs another day to dedicate to just drinking like a fish and acting like an asshole [loving use of the word]. We had some great girls helping us out and special thank you beautiful's need to go out to Sam and Kris. As the tournament kicks off we kicked off our own final four contest, with anyone getting all four teams right receiving a $50 poker account from RoyalVegasPoker.com. We also gave away a $25 dollar account to Alice B for winning our deck of cards raffle. (Insert some results of tourney games) With the games and poker having ended, and everyone drinking until there face was green, literally, we packed up and rolled out heading for our personal nightcap, Courtside of course because we are VIP like that.

We loved Courtside so much that we made a quick change of plans fitting it in as an event on the super busy tour. What we ended up doing was rolling into Tampa 's biggest freakin happy hour I have ever seen. No poker, not many college students, but again we are out doing good for the Royal Vegas and Sportscrew names. The Courtside Grille was packed with hotties of the business persuasion and inside was standing room only. They have 3 100 inch HD screens and over 20 smaller flat screens so everyone had great views of the Friday night games. (Insert some results of games) We must say sorry for the ‘Cuse fan we saw crying against a pole as they got bumped out early. Were not sure, but this is the two biggest bracket busters we have ever seen of late having the last two NCAA Champions to be knocked out so early. With it being so slammed inside we made our way out to the huge outdoor tent where AM620 did their afternoon show and now Tampa 's biggest cover band, the Miller Jim band was setting up. It was two for one drinks all night long under the tent, and they had a huge trailer hitch grill for great burgers and dogs. The band was great but the crowd was weak due to the unusually chilly Tampa night. Our favorite perk of Courtside was the two centrally located pool tables. It is hard to find a place that cares about the small things and we must say, Quality. One red one black with matching sticks and chalk, but the best part of it was the cost. Free to all. Amazing stuff really. We wrapped up the evening with an array of appetizers and I have to give four stars to the pan seared tuna and the tropical grilled shrimp. Saturday night turned us on to another high class hot spot where our girls had a great time going around and getting sign ups for the Final Four contest.
